- Ohio Packaging Symbol Compliance (Effective Dec 17th)
As we work through the Ohio regulations on strain names that go into effect on December 17th, some new issues have come up.
Risk: Product images on menus and the marketplace are non-compliant with new Ohio regulations requiring a DCC symbol and a THC warning symbol on all forward-facing packaging images.
Constraint: The Maintenance and Catalog teams lack the tools (e.g., Photoshop) and time to manually verify or update.
Proposed Solution (Prioritized):
Action: Superimpose the required symbols (via the attached PNG) onto all affected product card images.
Logic: Use existing localization rules to apply this fix only in Ohio.
Scope: Must apply to all Ohio menus, the marketplace, Store Overriden photos, and Jane’s stock images. Exclude Gear/Merch.
Specs: The symbols should be 75px x 75px (or .075 of the image height), in the bottom right corner of the image, with a 50px margin on the bottom and right
Interim Question: Can we implement the simple PNG overlay as a short-term risk fix until brand's can get fully compliant? Overlay attached.
