State-Specific Brand Name Compliance Brand names that are no longer allowed in Ohio. Dogwalkers (GTI Brand) had to create a new brand, DW, for Ohio. At first, we created this brand and locked it so the catalog team would know how to map. Also, I turned off Deepmapper for DW and asked Vadim to prevent any Dogwalkers from being mapped in Ohio. GTI has had to email me multiple times, including today, and we have to audit constantly. Using Dogwalkers in OH would incur hefty fines for GTI Risk: Brand compliance is currently managed through manual locks and human auditing, leading to frequent human error and MSO retailers using the same alias across multiple states, leading Dogwalkers to show in Ohio Long-Term Solution (Request for Future Dev): Implement support for state-specific brand names, similar to our product localization logic. Benefit: This would eliminate human error, allow Deepmapper functionality, and preserve user reviews (a key business value). Immediate Action:I know we are about to enter a code freeze. What I can do in the meantime is try to circumvent human errors, and we can identify and email MSOs using the same naming convention for Dogwalkers across multiple states.
